RossiniEnergy was founded in 2018. However, it is since 2015, during studies at french engineering school Arts et Métiers that our project is launched.
Everything started by realising that in many countries energy storage has real economic value, because of the advent of renewable energy and the high electricity costs. However, commercially available batteries have an unacceptably long payback time. We asked ourselves: why not use existing objects, such as electric vehicles, to store energy ? and the adventure had begun.
One day, speaking with a forklift driver, we discover that it is in function only about an hour per day…
Now, an electric forklift has a large battery capacity, equivalent to an electric car, is mobile, and, in many cases, is not used for most of the day. If we were able to build a charger that adapts the charge, or the discharge of the battery, depending on the solar production, we could then transform the forklift truck in a energy storage system.
Nuvolino, the first product, was born, to be quickly installed in Italy, Belgium and Australia.
Since then, RossiniEnergy hasn’t stopped finding batteries and connecting them to the grid, to create savings thanks to solar self-consumption and grid services.
